Montgomery County History Day

The 13th annual Montgomery County History Day competition, held Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Richard Montgomery High School, was a fantastic event.  Over 250 students brought their best work, and over 100 volunteers donated their time.  The Montgomery County Historical Society is proud to make the National History Day competition available to the county's public, private and home school students.

32 projects - including papers, exhibits, performances, documentaries and websites - were chosen at our competition to go on to the Maryland History Day competition which was on April 28, 2012 at UMBC.  In addition, many local groups sponsored special prices.  A list of projects that advanced to the state competition, as well as winners of special prizes, can be found here.

Congratulations to the Montgomery County students who are advancing to the National competition!  A list of the advancing students from our county can be found here
