Montgomery County History Day - WE NEED JUDGES!!!

For those of us who love history, Montgomery County History Day is a chance to hear students cheering for it!  It's a sound that the staff and volunteers at the MCHS never tire of hearing and always astounds us.  Come listen for yourself at this year's Montgomery County History Day competition.

MCHS is once again sponsoring the 11th annual Montgomery County History Day competition, to be held March 20th, 2010 at Richard Montgomery High School.  Students from twenty-four Montgomery County middle and high schools are participating in the event.  Winners at the county level go on to the Maryland competition in April, and state winners compete in the National History Day Contest in June.  In order to hold the competition, WE NEED JUDGES who have a basic knowledge of history and research and who feel comfortable interacting with adolescents.  We also need people to help with administrative tasks like staffing the registration table, hall monitoring, etc.

Interested in judging or helping at History Day?  Click here for a judges registration form or contact Emily Correll at 301-340-2825 or ecorrell@montgomeryhistory.org.

Thank you to Johns Hopkins University Montgomery County, Chipotle, and The Bean Bag, 2010 sponsors of Montgomery County History Day!

MCHS is supported in part by funding from Montgomery County government and the Arts & Humanities council of Montgomery County.
