Effective July 1, 2010 the Waters House is The Montgomery County Historical Society continues to experience unprecedented reductions to its funding from all sources including a decrease in direct county funding of 50% for fiscal year 2011. As a result, the Board of Directors of the Montgomery County Historical Society has been forced to make a number of difficult decisions, including terminating the lease with M-NCPPC to steward the Waters House History Center in Germantown. Library Collections at the Water House History Center 12535 Milestone Manor Lane Open Wednesdays and Satrudays, 10:00-4:00 The library collections at the Waters House History Center include copies of some of the resources available at the Jane C. Sween Library, including Montgomery County census transcripts , books on genealogy and local history. |

Special collections at the library include:
- William Mills/Montgomery County Public Schools Photography Collection. This extensive collection comprises approximately 350,000 images primarily dating from 1968 to 1999
- Thomas O'Reilly Architectural Collection
- Local authors collection
- Over 750 county land survey plats
- Bible Collections
- Bound back issues of the Express Newspapers dating from 1986 to 1990.
